With the success of the Ensure the Adventure campaign and the development of exciting new design plans, it is now possible to begin work on the new conference facilities at the Lakeside Christian Center. The new facility will include:
- Six sleeping rooms
- Conference/meeting rooms
- Faith Memorial Chapel
Gerald Florence, Jan Zook, Doris Slaaten, Lowell Latimer and Allen Omvig at the June 14, 1998 groundbreaking for the Center of Life Addition. Who knew that twenty years later we’d be breaking ground again?
Check out these “Adventures” from throughout the years. We are ensuring quality Adventure Anchored in Christ continues in the future through completed Phase I and are thrilled to now be moving on to Phase II.
Doris Slaaten, long-time Camp Metigoshe supporter and leader, has made a generous $250,000 pledge to Ensure the Adventure. Doris, who served as campaign chair for the Center of Life Appeal more than 20 years ago, also served as a Metigoshe Ministries’ board member.
A much beloved Minot State University professor and philanthropist, shared this about her gift to Metigoshe Ministries: “I have been involved with Metigoshe Ministries for 30 years. I served on the board from 1987-1995, have been active since, and look forward to continue supporting the ministry that happens at Metigoshe Ministries.”
The Ensure the Adventure has received $3,006,152.87 in gifts and pledges as of
June 20. This ensures that all the Phase I projects of the campaign can be completed as pledges are paid. It also means that attention may now turn to the planning for Phase II projects later this summer and that additional campaign efforts continue toward the $4.5 million campaign goal.
Again this year, Mission Builders will be working with volunteers ages 16 and up! We’d love to have you join us – as an individual or together with a group. To volunteer, email Associate Director, Melissa Kornkven and she’ll help you from there. [firstname.lastname@example.org]

This spring we enjoyed Alumni Gatherings in the Twin Cities, Fargo/Moorhead, Minot, Sioux Falls, and New York City. It was fun to reconnect with old friends and alumni from the different generations.
It was also fun to get to share the “Ensure the Adventure” capital campaign plans and kick off the start of the Alumni Campaign. Click Here to check out the video to hear what one staff alumni, Mary Kate Wold, had to say about her time at Camp Metigoshe.
The “Ensure the Adventure” capital campaign continues to pick up steam and has now reached over $2.5 million in gifts and pledges. Many volunteers are out and about asking for donations and campaigns are under way with former board members, women of the church, and camp staff alumni.
We recently received news from the Women of American Lutheran Church in Stanley, ND. They held a Spaghetti Dinner and quilt auction to raise money for the Women of the Church campaign for ‘Ensure the Adventure.’ Following the event they presented Metigoshe Ministries with $1,510.
We share our many thanks to the women of ALC in Stanley for creating this special event to raise funds and by doing so, ensuring that Adventure Anchored in Christ continues to remain strong for years to come. Thank you!
Metigoshe Ministries is happy to report fundraising efforts have raised $1,863,071 toward ensuring our ministry remains strong for generations to come. We are on the way to our goal of $4.5 million and challenge goal of $7 million!
Not only are we pleased with donations to the campaign – we are also humbled by the numerous people who volunteered their time towards the efforts. Over one hundred people volunteered approximately 2,800 hours [over $64,000 in savings] building the first projects of the campaign this past summer. In addition, over fifty people have volunteered to help raise the funds for these projects.
The campaign is off to a great start! Thank you to everyone who has already contributed.
