When Del Lang asked Jon and Ricky, our executive and site/facilities directors, if he could come and spend a few weeks volunteering at camp this fall, they both shouted an immediate YES!
Del is a longtime friend and camp supporter with great stories about his time on summer and year-round staff in 1982. We know how much Del cares for camp and how he wants to be involved in making sure it is a place that’s always ready to welcome campers for Adventure Anchored in Christ!
During his time with us Del worked on a lot of projects, including: repair work to the front deck of the Lodge, including the steps; helping set up the interior of the new shop garage; doing some screen and door repair; helping us begin to plan for and design a campfire and sitting area for our Long Lake lot; and so much more!
Before leaving, Del expressed his excitement to return next year, especially because he plans to bring his wife Maureen with, as she also moves into retirement. Thanks, Del! We can’t wait to see you both next year!
