Fall Trek Enjoys the Canadian Rockies

On September 9th, 38 people loaded a bus and headed to Banff, Canada, eager to experience God’s beauty in the Canadian Rockies. On our first day, we made a pit stop at the Brooks Museum in Brooks, Alberta where we learned about various aspects of Canadian history.

We arrived at the Canadian Rockies after two days of travel and started our third day at the Columbia Icefield. We rode a monster-truck sized bus, more commonly known as the Ice Explorer, onto a glacier and were able to spend some time walking on the glacier and taking all kinds of pictures! We went to the Skywalk where we walked on a U-shaped, glass floor over a cliff looking out onto the beautiful scenery of the mountains.

The following day, we rode the Gondola. Although it was cloudy with low visibility, seeing God’s Creation was phenomenal. Afterwards, we spent time wandering and shopping in downtown Banff, and then on to a boat tour of Lake Minnewanka. This lake is about 17 miles long, but we traveled half this length so that we were surrounded by the backcountry of Banff National Park. Our guides provided a few minutes where we shut off the engines and were able to listen to the nature that surrounded us. This was serene!

After leaving Banff, we headed to Drumheller, Alberta where we explored the Royal Tyrell Dinosaur Museum. A personal favorite of the trip was gathering part of our group to play Bunco together! That evening, we enjoyed a night at the Rosebud Theater where we enjoyed dinner and a show called “For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again.” This show was hilarious and was a favorite of many travelers!

We ended our wonderful trip with a night at a Mineral Spa in Moose Jaw, SK. This was the perfect way to relax after a long week! Many travelers shared that the Fall Trek is their favorite time of year and they can’t wait to see where we will go next year.   To check out the photos from the 2024 Fall Trek, Click Here.
