Giving Tuesday has become an important day for charities and non-profits all over the country, and that includes Metigoshe Ministries. Over the past few years we have been able to raise funds to help us renovate our waterfronts at both camp and the Christian Center; to purchase a vehicle for our Metigoshe in Motion program; add a “hammock village” to camp; and get set up for having an ice rink just outside The Lodge, our new community/sitting room in the Christian Center expansion.

We love it when we are able to highlight a specific project to improve our programming or our facilities – it’s so nice to be able to point to something visible that your gifts support. And that will continue in 2024, as the final $2,000 of our Giving Tuesday funds raised will help us to do some needed renovations to the sauna out at Camp Metigoshe. One of the favorite “gathering places” for many of our campers during their free time, the camp sauna needs to have its benches replaced and some of the beautiful wooden walls and ceilings renovated. The floor drain also needs some important upkeep work.

But even more importantly for 2024, we are asking you to help us replenish our Campership Fund. We are thankful to be able to say at Camp Metigoshe that no child will ever be turned away due to family financial difficulties. Whether the support needed is $50 or $500, we’ve always been able to say yes!

In recent years though, the need for campership support has been steadily growing. And, in 2024, we gave out over twice the campership funds as the year before with nearly $28,000 shared.
Now, we need your support to ensure that we can continue to say confidently that Camp Metigoshe will remain a place where all youth can come for a week of Adventure Anchored in Christ, and their parents won’t have to worry about whether they can afford it or not.

That is why we will start our Giving Tuesday fundraising by seeking to add $18,000 to our campership support. Once we have hit that goal, we will work on the Sauna project. And – if we are lucky enough to go over our goal – we will be able to add that much more to our Camp Metigoshe campership funding!

Giving Tuesday will take place on Tuesday, December 3rd this year and much of our fundraising work will take place online through our website and social media.
