March 20 Update on Metigoshe Ministries Events

20 March 2020

As Metigoshe Ministries continues to monitor developments locally – and beyond – we have taken the decision to extend the closure of our retreat center – canceling all retreats – through April 12. Our guests’ health remains our top priority and we will continue to stay on top of developments and make decisions as the situation changes.

We will remain in regular contact with retreaters and summer camp registrants and update you whenever we have something new to share.

At this time, we continue to prepare for a regular full-season schedule at Camp Metigoshe. We realize that this plan could change at any moment and we are developing a number of contingency options, as well. We have made a couple of updates to summer camp registration in order to help calm anxieties about what is to come:
• Our “Early Bird Discount” deadline has been extended until May 1st
• For the 2020 camp season, we will suspend our “non-refundable deposit” policy. Because of the uncertainties caused by COVID-19 all camp registration deposits & fees will be fully refundable should your child not be able to come to camp.

The Annual Meeting of the Metigoshe corporation is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th at 3 p.m. At this time, the Annual Meeting will be held as scheduled. Our bylaws require us to mail notice of the annual meeting no more than 10 days prior to the event, which would be April 9th. Our goal is to have a plan ready before that date, and I will be meeting regularly with the executive committee of our Board of Trustees in the coming days to finalize our plan. We will share details with you as soon as possible.

Finally, we continue to share daily “Camp Connections” on our Camp Metigoshe Facebook page. If you are in need of fun and faith-filled activities to do with your family – or on your own – you’ll find devotions, arts & crafts ideas, and so much more! Today included our first weekly Friday summer camp-style “Virtual Koiny” worship…the video is up for you to enjoy and sing along with.
