Summer is now here and we are very busy out in the garden out at camp.  The main garden is now fully planted and almost all of the seeds have come up and most of the transplants that were started at the parsonage are now set in the ground.  What was empty only a few weeks ago now has a small soft green covering!  Every week we welcome each and every camper into the garden for a time of discovery, work, devotions and a tasty harvest.  Check in here each week throughout the summer for updates on our plants and what the campers are up to!

So far camper work projects have included planting seeds, building trellis, transferring dirt into our new wheelchair accessible planting beds, mixing compost, saying goodbye to weeds and thinning out new plants to make sure they have the needed room to grow.  We are currently harvesting and eating herbs, lettuces and the little plants that get thinned out such as mini carrots, beets, chard and spinach.  What a tasty miniature feast!
